Hearts, flowers, chocolate.
Valentine’s Day is a special day when you show your partner, friends, and family just how much you love them with extravagant gifts and attention.
This year, make the love last by falling in with the latest design trends in the industry. It may not be a box of chocolates, but these newest design trends of 2014, provided by the professionals of London Bay Homes’ in-house interior design studio, Romanza Interior Design, will ensure you have a stylish and comfortable place to spend some quality time with the ones you love.
Orange, Turquoise, Green, Magenta. At this year’s Highpoint Market in North Carolina, color was indeed everywhere as designers brightened up every space with a memorable amount of standout hues. Purple even made its mark as color of the year, a designation senior designer, Melissa Allen, took to heart when she created the lavender retreat found in the Master Bedroom of the Annalisa model home in Cortile at Mediterra.
Warmer metals such as gold, bronze, and copper are very popular this year, as is polished brass. We are no longer seeing the traditional chrome and stainless steel hardware options being used as often as they have been. Gold has been making its way back onto the scene and even getting mixed with silver as seen often in jewelry ensembles. Branch out with these warmer finishes for a cozier setup, like the Dining Room of the Delfina at The Founders Club created by Jennifer Stevens, senior designer at Romanza.
Move over, Black; Navy Blue is coming into its own in 2014 as the new neutral in home design. We’ve started seeing this color in just about every facet of design and we’re falling in love with its chic simplicity. We expect more and more people to start incorporating this blue shade in their homes and we say, “Take it a step further!” Try mixing it with some gold for a stylish and trendy design.
One final design trend that makes our heart melt is the continuation of a simple and clean design. Ornate decorations and carvings still find their way into the hearts of many, but the continued rise of modern design will ensure that less clutter and clean lines are here to stay.
