London Bay Homes, Romanza Interior Design, and Aquatico Pools have continually brought home awards for their superior design, building, and marketing excellence and the 2016 Sand Dollar Awards gala was no exception. Our team of professionals were honored with 10 awards by the Collier Building Industry Association’s (CBIA) Sales and Marketing Council to recognize the best in building, interior merchandising, pool design, website, and the coveted Community of the Year, awarded to Mediterra for the 10th time.
In total, five of London Bay Homes’ Naples new homes were highlighted during the awards gala with some of the custom homes receiving multiple designations.
Designed by London Bay Homes and Romanza Interior Design, the Chelston received top honors for its interior design for custom single-family homes in the $4,000,001 to $4.5 million category. It features 4,227 square feet of luxury living space designed to mirror the area’s carefree lifestyle with West Indies architecture and an Old Florida-inspired interior design. Some of the highlights of the beach-style residence include three bedrooms and three-and-one-half bathrooms, a study, formal dining, a grand kitchen, breakfast nook, and a great room that serves as the perfect open gathering space for friends and families alike, especially with the large transom windows that let in natural light to invigorate the home. The second floor of the home features 1,245 square feet with two bedrooms with private full baths and walk-in closets, and a loft with a wet bar and undercounter refrigerator. The home features clean-lined dark walnut wood furniture that complements the neutral backgrounds, as well as provides the perfect base for the bight interior design accents. Melissa Allen of Romanza Interior Design has made the West Indies home pop with vibrant colors such as rain forest citrus, teal, coral, butter, and eggplant.

The Anguilla also received top honors for its interior design, coming in at the peak of the list in the private residence priced between $3,500,001 to $4 million category. As part of London Bay Homes’ Naples Collection, the three-bedroom, three-bath Anguilla features architectural design details that allow it to harmoniously blend with the carefree lifestyle associated with coastal living. The exterior of the West Indies-inspired home features Bahama shutters, a soaring entry tower, and a vented cupola with a metal roof to allow fresh breezes to flow throughout the home when opened. Upon entering the home, guests will be greeted with what Jennifer Stevens, Sr. Design Director for Romanza Interior Design, calls the “colors of sea, sky, and sand” which she used to create a modern casual setting throughout the home’s 3,584 square feet. The soft blues, aquas, and sands color palette, along with the light hardwood French oak Provence flooring, will bring the tranquil feelings of laying out on the beach while contemporary light fixtures, antique mirrors, and textural fabrics complemented by metallic accents will add an element of luxurious style.

The 2016 Sand Dollar Award for top interior design in the $2,000,001 to $2.25 million category went to the Benita in Portofino at Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club. The Benita features a refreshing coastal design and 3,102 air-conditioned square feet, blending the exquisite styling of London Bay Homes’ Portofino neighborhood with Spanish-influenced architecture featuring clean, white stucco and a terracotta barrel roof tile. Walk through the modernized custom double iron and glass entry doors and you’ll receive a breath of fresh air with the interior design stylings of Michael Scott from Romanza Interior Design.
Scott designed the semi-furnished villa home to show a coastal- and tropical-inspired theme throughout its open floor plan with ivory-hued backgrounds like the shell-stone flooring in the main living areas and the master bath, the alabaster finishes for bathroom and kitchen cabinetry, and light travertine and quartz countertops. The lighter hues extend to the painted furniture, but are highlighted by the range of tropical colors displayed in the art pieces, accents, and bedding – from pale and full-toned coral, bright aqua and deep purples to tropical greens, cranberry, citron and teal. Clean-lined decorative fixtures will boost the overall design by adding a modern twist. Although some of the interior design elements have been chosen for the Benita’s future homeowner, Scott has balanced the design to make it versatile and easy to incorporate any design elements that will display your unique style and personality.
