London Bay Homes is nearing completion of its first of two custom single-family estate homes on Cutlass Cove in Port Royal, transforming luxury residential offerings in Naples’ most coveted neighborhood.
The home at 4395 Gordon Drive features West Indies-Coastal architecture and interior design that pushes luxury living to new levels. The décor by Romanza Interior Design features exotic woods, 36-by-36 honed stone and wood plank flooring; streamlined furnishings; distinct reglet details accenting walls, baseboards and door frames; and a contemporary style building on a color scheme of neutral taupes and ivories and nature-inspired accents of green and tan.
“The contemporary elegance is recognizable in the clean-lined, large-scale upholstered furniture and in the sophisticated palette of finishes, including mixed metals, woods and leather,” said Jennifer Stevens, senior design director of Romanza. “The design style is evident from the front door. Inside, accent matte-painted wood panel walls unite the foyer, great room, wine cellar, and showcase various exotic wood pieces. The study and powder bath reflect a similar design theme with rich sapele, anigre and wenge wood panels.”
The four-bedroom home, offering 4,648 square feet of living space within two stories, is expected to be completed in February 2018. It is priced at $13,475,000, fully furnished and move-in-ready.
The model is part of the Naples Collection of estate homes from Park Royal to Park Shore offered by London Bay, an award-winning homebuilder and developer in the Southwest Florida luxury home market for nearly three decades. Demonstrating the builder’s brand promise of Private Label Living and a commitment to lifestyle, the estate features a custom pool and spa and expansive outdoor living areas created by London Bay’s Acquatico pool and outdoor design company.
“The architecture, interior design and details in this home reach a new level of luxury,” said Toby Cloutier, the London Bay Homes sales executive who exclusively represents the Naples Collection. “There has been a lot of thought put into every detail. London Bay and Romanza are really raising the bar. Several people have toured it and are amazed by these finishes, many they’ve never seen before. They also like the idea of just arriving in Naples, and their home is complete.”
Located near the southern tip of Port Royal, renowned worldwide for its peninsulas with mansions along back bays and coves and the Gulf of Mexico, the estate provides the opportunity for a dock accommodating boats up to 29 feet. Right on a quiet portion of Cutlass Cove near the secluded Keewaydin Island, the dock provides quick access to Gordon Pass and the Gulf of Mexico.
The home’s location near downtown Fifth Avenue and Third Street South also provides a wealth of options for dining at award-winning restaurants like Vergina’s and Sea Salt or window shopping at Marissa’s Collections while taking in daytime festivals, live entertainment and nationally-acclaimed theatrical productions at Naples Players or Gulfshore Playhouse.
Homebuyers can also take advantage of membership eligibility at the exclusive Port Royal Club and the nearby Cutlass Cove Beach Club, a private beach park with a tiki hut.
Cove and mangrove views are introduced once inside the front door of the 4395 Gordon Drive estate, and from the multilevel outdoor living area and pool.
The first floor features an open-concept design combining kitchen, dining room and great room. It also has a study, a glass-encased wine room, powder room, pool bath, a large utility room with front-loading washer and dryer, an elevator and a staircase designed by Stevens with stained walnut brown handrails, clear tempered glass side panels and accents of brushed metal hardware.
Stevens’ interior design plan features dramatic artwork, recessed baseboards and precise reglet details with metal insets framing doors and accenting walls.
“One of my favorite spaces is the large great room, which offers two sitting areas for formal or casual gatherings,” said Stevens. “The light coming off the cove in the morning fills this room with an ethereal feel for enjoying coffee on the sectional or gathering in the evening on the four smaller scale lounge chairs for cocktails and conversation while taking in the sunset.”
Located off the great room are matte lacquer-finished pocket doors that open to the study. “Custom paneled cabinetry combines anigre and wenge in the study. There’s also a dramatic backlit floating ceiling and wide-plank walnut wood flooring,” Stevens said. “On the opposite side of the great room is the kitchen, which features a mix of white and high-gloss lacquer walnut cabinetry, giving it a contemporary look. So, too, does the cantilevered top of the center island, which is so large it seats at least four and features a five-foot galley sink with double faucets.” Additional features include glass-door cabinetry, full height quartzite backsplash, microwave and steam ovens, double Sub-Zero refrigerators and freezer drawers. It incorporates a butler’s bar offering a sink and refrigerated drawers.
“You can’t get enough of the views throughout the entire downstairs area, including in the dining space off the kitchen,” Stevens mentioned. “I pictured a couple entertaining friends at the dining table, which overlooks the pool, spa and firepit as well as the lush greens across on Keewaydin Island.”
The space also features bronze metal-clad beams, and a trio of sparkling Terzani chandeliers.
“We’ve created a number of spaces, inside and out, to enjoy the amazing unobstructed views,” Stevens added. “The master suite is located on the second floor to enhance its views, which are also enjoyed from the window-front tub in the bathroom.”
The bed wall in the second-floor master suite is oriented to a wall of sliding glass doors showcasing the scenery and providing private access to a large terrace with a fireplace.
The master suite spans half of the second floor and includes a large double-entry closet featuring Poliform custom cabinetry with built-in dressers and mirrors, and dual bathrooms. Stevens custom designed a chenille-upholstered wall-mounted headboard and incorporated motorized draperies. The room features a palette of soft blues, blue-grays, charcoal and tan tones and simple patterned fabric.
“One of the master bath suites is finished with luxury marble and high-gloss cabinetry and Calcutta Borghini countertops, along with a walk-through shower to the separate soaking tub overlooking a breathtaking view of Cutlass Cove,” said Stevens.
The second bath offers rich granite countertops, floating wenge wood cabinetry and finely veined limestone surfaces.
“The thought behind the master suite’s dual bathrooms was to create the feeling of a luxury resort,” Stevens said. “That feeling continues on the master terrace with a chaise and a collection of contemporary furnishings by Dedon. It’s also captured in the finishes and design of the pool, water features and spa, the secluded firepit, and the contemporary style of outdoor furnishings.”
Adding to the resort-style ambience of the second floor is a full morning kitchen, equipped with built-in microwave, espresso machine and refrigerator, and a stacking washer and dryer.
The second-floor VIP suite offers a custom, king-sized bed and nightstand featuring walnut and etched-steel metal finishes, and a sitting area. Its palette includes soft yellows, green and gray fabrics and subtle blue-green patterns. Its private full bath has a frameless shower with a cantilevered partial waterfall seat, stone flooring, rift-cut oak cabinetry, a white-gray countertop, and glossy linear-patterned tile backsplash.
Furniture and fabrics in the second upstairs guest room provide contrasts with white and creamy white tones, dark woods and rich textures. The guest bath has a charcoal vanity with waterfall countertop.
An additional ground-floor guest room includes a private full bathroom and contemporary styled built-in wardrobe, dresser and shelves with wood and lacquer finishes.
The large covered living area offers an outdoor kitchen and two grills, including a circular EVO flattop built into the large freestanding island bar. State-of-the-art technology includes two 48-inch TVs, hidden audio and video equipment.
