London Bay Homes introduces Island Contemporary architecture to Fort Myers Beach with Grandview at Bay Beach

FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 20, 2017) – As the first condo tower to rise on Fort Myers Beach since 2008, soon all eyes will be on London Bay Homes’ Grandview at Bay Beach.

“At Grandview, the name really does apply,” said Bob Hall of Curts Gaines Hall Jones Architects, who designed the 11-story luxury high-rise on the southern tip of the gated Waterside community to capitalize on its panoramic views of Estero Bay, Lovers Key State Park and the Gulf of Mexico.

With an elegantly clean and streamlined design that Hall describes as “Island Contemporary,” Grandview’s architectural character fits London Bay Homes’ modern-minded homebuyers.

“Grandview is very much a modern architectural expression,” said Hall. “The tower’s splayed fashion takes in a great, sweeping width of frontage along the residences’ main side.”

A contemporary exterior palette of light creams and greys punctuated with stone elements establishes Grandview’s modern feel, while glass handrails on sunrise eastern terraces further enhance the effect. The porte-cochère’s composited wood accents are echoed in a trio of folded plate roofs atop the tower.

With only six units per floor, the tower’s design uses the footprint to widen interior residences. “The view cone and angle leads to a nice floor plan that feels spacious,” said Hall.

Grandview’s sunset waterside terraces, oriented to the north and south, are screened for optimum alfresco enjoyment. Large areas of low-e glass, along with the terraces, contribute to a “see-through” feel that is conducive to the open floor plan while offering energy efficiency.

“We knew London Bay Homes’ foray into multi-family housing would be special, and Grandview’s design puts forth their brand promise of Private Label Living in a spectacular fashion,” said Hall. “We bring that individuality to tower living with a private-residence feel in Grandview.”

Grandview’s statement-worthy porte-cochère opens to a two-story lobby and staircase that leads to the tower’s amenity level. There, residents will find a fitness center, yoga studio, men’s and women’s changing rooms, and a catering kitchen.

A large interior club room opens to covered and open deck spaces and an outdoor bar with barbeque grills. Trellises, pergolas and a lush elevated entertainment area combine to create casual gathering spaces adjacent to the resort-style pool, fire pits and lighted tennis courts.

Located two miles north of Lovers Key State Park on the final site in Waterside, Grandview will stand adjacent to a 55-acre nature preserve with three miles of walking and jogging paths. Residents and beach goers can also enjoy nature preserves and trails at Bowditch Point Park, and explore the archaeological and historic site at Mound House. Grandview’s residents will have access to the activities and amenities offered at Waterside, along with the boutique shops, restaurants and nightly entertainment in the Gulf-front Times Square in Fort Myers Beach.

Grandview offers 58, three-bedroom, three-bedroom-plus-den or four-bedroom residences, with 2,400 to 2,900 square feet of living space, including six penthouses that boast 11-foot ceilings and a private, two-car parking garage with storage.
