NAPLES, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2016) – Romanza Interior Design’s Jennifer Stevens will showcase the versatility of the award-winning luxury Capriano single-family villa at Mediterra, Naples’ 10-time community of the year.
Located in the Lucarno neighborhood, the Capriano model by London Bay Homes will offer a soft contemporary look conveyed by furniture forms, lighting fixtures, wood and metal tones and bright accents of green, orange, melon and yellow.
“The Capriano lends itself to many interior design interpretations and lifestyles,” said Stevens, who’s designs earned an Aurora Award from the Southeast Building Conference for a previous Capriano model. “The floor plan’s open spaces allow owners to express their personality.”
The two-story Capriano offers 4,402 square feet of living space, including four bedrooms, a great room, study, wine cellar and a second floor featuring a sitting room, wet bar and a guest suite with full bath.
In keeping with the European village ambience of Mediterra’s Lucarno neighborhood, the Capriano features a stone-clad wall at the driveway, a lighted entry courtyard with a seating area, and architecture accented with precast stone, wood rafters and caviar-hued metal detailing. It also has a trellis above the walkway to the front door and offers a two-car garage and a detached single-car garage.
The introduction to Stevens’ soft contemporary design will begin with the front door, where the traditional grid pattern of a grill is retranslated into intersecting rectangles of varying sizes. French doors inside the Capriano will also feature a reimagined twist with only horizontal mullions.
Stevens will also use distressed and natural wood finishes, metal, hammered iron and contemporary forms – tables with floating shelves, frosted glass tops and grid-patterned furniture pieces – throughout the model. It will also have painted beamed ceilings and painted and wire-finished interior and exterior tongue-and-groove ceilings.
Stevens will ramp up color throughout the model’s outdoor areas, with soft reds, oranges, honeysuckles and yellows in striped, floral and patterned cushions and accent pillows.
A contemporary zen design reference will be introduced in the geometric design of the master suite’s hallway console with a brushed pearl finish – an aesthetic continuing into the bedroom with its light washed-wood dresser, and shagreen accented nightstands on each side of the upholstered headboard encrusted with black nickel nail-head trim.
The study will showcase contemporary forms, such as a leather chair with brass nail head and a tiered accent table with floating shelves. The fabric of two swivel armchairs will pick up muted tones of the model’s terracotta, gray and cream palette.
One of the Capriano’s guest bedrooms will feature twin upholstered beds and a mirrored nightstand with a frosted gray wood frame. Its bathroom will offer large-format tile, a feature wall combining rectangular and square mosaic tile and a winter pewter-glazed alder vanity with a brushed vanilla ice quartz countertop.
The wood headboard in the second guest room features raised slats creating a loose grid, natural linens and whites paired with persimmon and a camel-colored textured faux leather desk accented with nail-head trim. The room enjoys private access to the entry courtyard, offering club-style aluminum Adirondack-style chairs and ottomans.
The second-floor guest suite also enjoys a private outdoor space – a balcony overlooking the front yard – and the VIP amenities of a sitting room, wet bar and large sundeck.
Wallpaper accents will embellish the game room’s tray ceiling above a sofa with floral and striped pillows, a woven armchair and a chunky cocktail table with three legs. Upholstery and pillows will add hints of Dijon yellow, gray and burnt orange.
Cushions and accessories will add soft red, orange and yellow to the sundeck, a large space accommodating four woven armchairs and chaises.
The model will also have an outdoor fireplace, summer kitchen and custom pool and spa. It is expected to open this December and will replace London Bay Homes’ most recent Capriano model, which sold prior to completion in 2015. An additional Capriano model is also under construction in the Cortile neighborhood and expected to be complete in December.
