NAPLES, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2015) – Jake Adamonis, executive sous chef at The Club at Mediterra, won the 2015 Taste of Elegance Pork Signature Competition during the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Show in Orlando earlier this month.

Adamonis’ award-winning dish was a rouladen of pork with sauce charcutiere, braised red cabbage, Brussels sprouts with honey glazed carrots and poached apples, and a butternut squash puree with a caraway tuile.

His dish took inspiration from seasonality and celebration, focusing on traditional German flavors and Oktoberfest fun. Adamonis beat out 12 other chef competitors and past champions for the gold medal and coveted pig trophy.

“This was a great opportunity to showcase my skills while representing The Club at Mediterra,” said Adamonis. “All of the practice, discipline and critical evaluation payed off in a big way.”

Adamonis is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute and a certified Chef de Cuisine through the American Culinary Federation.

The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Show highlights the newest menu trends, state-of-the-art design and décor, and the best in the businesses education.

Mediterra is Naples’ nine-time Community of the Year award winner. The 1,700-acre community offers an array of lifestyle amenities, including The Club at Mediterra, ranked as one of the top private clubs in the world by BoardRoom magazine. The club features two world-class Tom Fazio-designed courses and the private 10,000-square-foot Beach Club on the Gulf of Mexico, featuring an elevated swimming pool, casual dining with a full bar, and valet service for beach chairs, umbrellas, and beverage and food menus.

Mediterra’s onsite amenities include themed neighborhood parks; eight miles of walking and jogging trails; and a fitness complex with tennis and bocce courts, a pool and spa services.

The recent renovation at the 32,000-square-foot clubhouse updated the interior design of the main dining room, expanded the Club Lounge and kitchen, and introduced alfresco dining options, an exposition kitchen and chef’s table.

The club and Tavern on 18 offer formal and casual dining prepared by a staff of award-winning culinary experts. Additional renovations at the tavern added a fire pit to the popular lounge, which serves gourmet brick-oven pizzas, seasonal salads and open-air grilled entrées.

The Club at Mediterra is halfway through a two-year, $6.1 million project to replace the irrigation system, bunkers, cart paths and turf on the South Course.

Mediterra’s Golf Learning Center offers indoor and outdoor hitting stations, video equipment with launch monitor, a 2.5-acre short game practice complex with three greens, and a staff of certified PGA professionals. Membership opportunities at Mediterra are limited to just 225 members per 18 holes.

All of the community’s amenities are membership-owned.

Since December 2009, London Bay Homes and affiliates have managed all new home sales and marketing for the luxury community. Resale properties are listed through Mediterra Realty.

Available home designs in Mediterra include single-family estate homes and single-family maintenance-free villas priced from $1 million to more than $7 million.
